  1. La La Land
  2. Don’t Breathe
  3. Lion
  4. Miss Sloane
  5. Nocturnal Animals

The top 5 movies that I most anticipated that turned out to be a bit of a dissapointment are:

  1. Ms. Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children
  2. Jason Bourne
  3. The Legend of Tarzan
  4. Independence Day: Resurgence
  5. The Conjuring 2

The top 5 worst movie of 2016 are:

  1. Assassin’s Creed
  2. Ghostbusters
  3. Zoolander 2
  4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadow
  5. The Huntsman: Winter’s War

I still scratch my head on Assassin’s Creed and wonder what went wrong with that movie. It has all the pedigree for a good movie. Competent leading man, great cast, breathtaking cinematography, and credible fight choreography. Sadly, the one most important ingredient that can sink a movie is there too. A bad script. The sub par editing and awful sound editing did not help either. I mean I can barely hear what the characters mumbled throughout the movie behind the loud background noise.

However, on the best movie front, nothing can touch La La Land. For once my choice agrees with the critics’. I mean, have you ever seen a movie that has so many glowing reviews from critics? La La Land deserve every single praise it was lavished on.
In a time of bleak outlook and hatefilled ether, we need a movie like La La Land to lift our spirit and tell us things might works out in the end, just not exactly the way we wanted them to be.
