Nope – like Jaws…from the sky…

I enjoyed this movie much more than the last movie Jordan Peele made (US) with that confusing plot. The movie is slow paced but by no mean boring. The characters are interesting enough and the suspense keep me on the edge of the seat throughout. Jordan Peele understood the common knowledge that the public has with the “alien ship and hot air balloon” association that he made full use of that in this movie. He also layered an interesting back story to one of the character that made for an interesting story telling that is more than one dimensional. Daniel Kaluuya is such a compelling actor to watch that I would pay money to see him recite the phone book. Overall, this movie has that early M. Night Shyamalan vibe with a more lushful and modern cinematography.
Even a casual shoulder-up shot of Daniel Kaluuya talking by himself was gorgeously lit like a photo gallery portrait. The CGI, although simple but very effective to convey danger and suspense. I think this is one of the best summer movie this year aside from Top Gun: Maverick and Elvis.
